The past year in French class has definitely been a memorable last year to spend. Over the course of this year, not only was I able to learn new vocabulary and improve my grammatical skills, but I felt more integrated with French culture as a result of it. The new format of the way our classroom was run allowed me to practice my oral skills as well as learn how all of the material I was learning could be implemented in real life situations in the francophone world. After watching movies like Le Rafle and Joyeux Noël I was given more insight in to French history and the role they had to play in large historic events like the two world wars. As a result of this year, I am more comfortable speaking in French and feel more confident that I'd be able to interact with the French people better than I would've expected if I ever am in France (or any francophone country). It's upsetting that this will be my last year studying the french language at school, but I am thankful for all that I've learned this year and I am satisfied with my progress, especially since they were a part of my goals for the beginning of the year.
